Once in Portilla, you have to cross the town to continue from the upper part of the town along a forest track that ascends to the Coros hill (1,311 m), located at the foot of the imposing Peña del Palo. On the other side of the pass, the route descends to Piedrasecha to continue along forest roads to Cuevas de Viñayo, a route in which it overcomes the Piedrasecha Pass (1,268 m).
In Cuevas de Viñayo you return to the asphalt to gently go down the road to Carrocera. On the outskirts of this town, you cross the regional road from La Magdalena to La Robla to ascend a link road to the regional road from La Magdalena to Leon. Right at the junction with this road, in the area of Cantarranas, the route deviates to the left along a forest track that passes in front of the Hito de la Memoria. This track immediately becomes a firebreak that ascends along the edge of a coniferous reforestation to the heights of Valdezarza (1,295 m). From there, a long descent begins towards the town of Llanos de Alba, barely separated from the urban area of La Robla by the course of the Bernesga River.
