High resolution image. This link will open using lightbox, there may be a context switch The stage begins on the outskirts of Toreno on the old road that runs parallel to the Ponferrada highway. This road ends in a set of roundabouts with an underpass of the highway, where the Pradilla and Valdelaloba exit is located, which gives access to the Tebra area. There we turn off onto a forest track that ascends to Cerro de las Cabeceras (760 m) to descend towards Finolledo through an area of scrubland and pine reforestation.
Once in Finolledo, you leave the town along the local road, opting for the Cubillinos detour to go up to a nearby recreation area. There you take a forest track that connects with Cabañas de la Dornilla. Crossing the entire town, you follow a forest track that passes under the Toreno- Ponferrada highway and circles the land of the Bayo industrial estate before ascending to Cerro del Tesón (712 m). The route now advances through a landscape dominated by reforestation of conifers that alternate with oak groves dotted with cork oaks. These forest masses end up giving way to crop areas and the dispersed hamlet of Cabañas Raras.
