This link will open using lightbox, there may be a context switchCacabelos Crossing the bridge over the Cúa River, the route leaves Cacabelos along the Villafranca del Bierzo road. Immediately you cross the town of Pieros, while ascending a slope between vineyards that gives way to a rapid descent, at the foot of which you reach the Valtuille de Arriba detour. In the center of this crowded town you take a narrow street that leads to a road junction above the town. There the route turns left towards Pobladura de Somoza, beginning a road climb. However, just a kilometer and a half further on, the asphalt is abandoned to continue the ascent along a dirt track that runs halfway through a reforestation area, overlooking the extensive vineyards of Cacabelos. In this way, the climb culminates in the Campa de las Vigas, where the route returns to the asphalt to face a long descent that, after leaving the Paradiña detour behind, ends at a crossing on the banks of the Burbia River. At this point we come out onto a more important road that connects to Villafranca del Bierzo on the left, although our route turns right to reach Paradaseca on a short climb.
