Route 1: Barruelo de Santullán - Balboa - Departure from El Mercadillo

High resolution image. This link will open using lightbox, there may be a context switch Taking the forest track that enters the Mercadillo valley, we climb through oak mountains to Yugueros. From there we continue by road to La Ercina, where the route turns north, in the direction of Sobrepeña, to go in search of the place of Monte Peral. At this point, the itinerary turns west along the Fuentes Valley track, which leads to the outskirts of La Losilla, already in the Porma Valley. From there you continue along a track parallel to the train tracks to Boñar.
The route crosses Boñar from south to north, to head to Barrio de las Ollas, a small town located on the opposite bank of the Porma. From the upper part of this town there is a dirt track that, after crossing the train tracks, and the road from Boñar to La Vecilla on a couple of occasions, allows us to connect with the Ranedo de Curueño road. From this road starts a track to the left along which we will descend to Otero de Curueño and from there to La Vecilla, where the stage ends.
