The small houses that line the streets of this village are in proportion with its reduced size. Granite, which is abundant in this area, is the traditional building material, used even for the walls that line the route. The tree-lined path takes walkers through lush grasslands made fertile by the water that gushes down from the Béjar Mountain Range. Holm oaks are the finest species of tree to be seen in an area that is also dotted with vineyards.
This village is also the site of the Church of Santiago.
