Valdelacasa is the largest municipality on this uphill stretch of the Silver Route. It boasts several fine houses, and even the more modest ones feature carved based and benches outside the doors. As is typical throughout this region, granite is used for all the stonework.
The landscape still conserves large wooded areas, albeit less dense than in earlier periods. This stretch of the Silver Route is dotted with Roman milestones, cylindrical marble posts that mark the distance to be travelled and situated at the side of the pilgrims’’ way.
This town is also the site of the Church of El Dulce Nombre de María.
