Palace of the Marqueses de Valverde
This town house was commanded by the Marquis of Valverde: Juan de Figueroa and Maria de Toledo. It was held in Italianate or Florentine style in the last quarter of the XVI century, although some elements were modified in the reforms that took place in the XVIII century. On the portal of the palace are the shields of the Marquis of Valverde.
In the main floor, on the façade, stands out a rectangular window framed laterally by two sculptures that have been traditionally identified as the marquise and her lover. Important elements of the composition are the mannerist medallions. The façade also presents semicircular arches with dressed blocks, those from the front door and several windows, with mascarons and atlas in the upper windows. In the reform of the XVIII century plasterworks on top of the building were added. Flanking the main window of the corner are representations of Hermes and a Caryatid.
