On July 26, 1875, the city of Seville saw the birth of Antonio Cipriano José María Machado Ruíz, one of the most representative poets and at the same time the youngest of the Generation of '98, into a family with multiple intellectual interests.

Poet, playwright and narrator, he began his training cycle at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza with the help of Francisco Giner de los Ríos, where he began to forge his open character, away from dogmatism.

His eventful youth led him to discover the attractive face of bohemian Madrid at the end of the 19th century, to participate in literary gatherings and meet important figures on the intellectual scene of the time such as the unique Valle-Inclán. After a brief stay in Paris, where he had the opportunity to meet Oscar Wilde, he returned to the capital of Spain, coming into contact with modernist currents and establishing friendships with Juan Ramón Jiménez or Rubén Darío and later with Federico García Lorca and Unamuno , among others.
