In Aleje the national highway is abandoned to ford the bed of the Esla River. On the other side of the river, two options open up to Sabero: follow the road or take the path to the top of La Loma, on a harder route. Once in Sabero, the last section is tackled along the forest track that goes up the Prao Fuego Valley to go down towards Cistierna along the Castro de Vegamediana road, passing through the old Vegabarrio laundry on the way.
