Puerto de Béjar is the first stop on the Silver Route in the province of Salamanca. However, pilgrims do not go through the town with its characteristic local architecture, but instead bypass it to the left, following the Pilgrims’ Road to Santiago. This small but charming town is perched on a rocky crag which is reached from Béjar along the Cantagallo road or from Baños de Montemayor (Caceres).

In addition, in this town are: the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Puente de la Malena, various Roman milestones, the Ermita del Humilladero, the Ermita de Santa Bárbara, the Vía de la Plata under the viaduct, the Historical garden located in the Preserve of Our Lady of Carmen.
