This town, boasting a long-standing tradition in mule driving, is one of the most important spots on the Silver Route in the province of Salamanca. Here, slate takes over from granite as the principal building material. The route is straight, flat and stretches out into the distant woods.

Next to the church Santa María La Blanca, the town’s most important monument, visitors will find a well-kept space featuring information panels and several milestones, gravestones and a stretch of the Roman road.

This town also boasts the following sites of interest: The Chapel of El Santo Cristo del Socorro and a park dedicated to the Silver Route.
