Palace of the Condes de Rivadavia / Pimentel
Renaissance palace built in the 16th century. It has belonged to noble families and monarchs throughout its history and king Phillip II was born here. Nowadays, it houses the Provincial Council
The palace first belonged to the Marquises of Astorga and later the Marquises de los Pimentel and the Counts of Rivadavia, all of whom have given their name to the palace. The Entrance Hall is a rectangular vestibule, connects the courtyard to the street. There are tile skirting boards on the walls that show various events from the history of the city.
