Footsteps of Teresa of Ávila - Alba de Tormes
Saint Teresa held close ties with town of Alba de Tormes and had a close friendship with the Duke of Alba’s wife, with whom she exchanged letters. Moreover, her sister Juana de Ahumada was married to the Duke’s administrator.
In 1571 she founded the Convent of La Anunciación, where she passed away in 1582. Her tomb can still be seen there today several important relics - her heart and left arm - can be worshipped there.
