One of the most distinctive sounds of the Cow Festival is the explosion of fireworks, which marks the start of the procession from its hermitage at 9 a.m. on the second Sunday in May and which runs throughout the city.

Upon arrival at Avenida de Madrid, the pasodoble begins to the rhythm of the Wild Cat, which has become the emblem of a popular cultural event in Ávila. It ends at the Adaja Bridge. The image will rest in the Church of San Juan during lunch.

At five in the afternoon, the procession begins its return to the neighborhood, visiting the city's patron saint, Saint Teresa, and other churches. As it enters the neighborhood, the image of the Virgin turns toward each window and balcony where there are devotees.
