In Castronuño, where there is a pleasant view of the meadowland flooded by the San José reservoir, the Duero swells just a few kilometres before entering the Denominación de Origen of the Toro wines. The Duero has an abundance of water here after being fed by the rivers Riaza, Duratón, Adaja and Pisuerga. The Castronuño reservoir has an imposing look, built on the plain. Particularly noteworthy here is the Iglesia Santa María del Castillo - Ermita del Cristo, built in the 18th century.
