Alba de Tormes is the town where Saint Teresa of Ávila died and it therefore offers travellers various sites of interest. Here they can explore the Church of La Anunciación/ the Tomb of Saint Teresa / the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites, founded by Saint Teresa of Ávila and the place where she spent the final days of her life. She is buried in the choir under the church. Inside the Saint’s cell can still be seen, and on the main altar is an urn containing the incorrupt body of Saint Teresa and two relics: her heart and left arm. The town is also home to the Alba de Tormes Teresian Museum and the Teresian Basilica.
