Spanish theatre is full of stories. However, we sometimes forget that many of these stories are based on the lives of women who could have been anyone: a mother, a widow, a single woman, a wounded, raped or abused woman. The woman who loves, the woman who intrigues, the woman who cries. Spanish theatre from the Spanish Golden Age and Silver Age is a magnificent reflection of the multiple traits that inhabit every woman. As it could not be otherwise, women appear on stage. With the help of our actresses, all the women will become a single character. The black shawl is the only element that will make the character change. Depending on its placement, the actress will become one woman or another. Through her words we will recognise the harshness of the speeches of Lucrecia de Fuenteovejuna, the intrigues of old Celestina weaving the loves of Calixto and Melibea, the sadness of Doña Rosita the Spinster when she sees herself abandoned and alone or the excessive love of Doña Inés for a man she has not yet met. They and some others will be the protagonists of our play, a series of women's experiences. The game consists of letting the audience guess which play each of the women appearing on stage belongs to. This staging aims to be a reflection of the purest theatre, without artifice. Only words and gestures to make the audience laugh and cry through four actresses who give voice to all the women.
