Marina wants to escape from Perendi. The yearning for youthful experiences, the glitter of the big world and an idealized future of professional success call her far away, pushing her to leave her native valley behind. But before leaving, she has to find, right in Perendi, the material for the research work that will help her get a position as an associate researcher at the University of Wisconsin: the pictorial work of an eccentric Syrian artist who immigrated to the council, endowed with the gift of pictorial prophecy and augur of deaths and catastrophes. Through Ahmad Rami's paintings, a decadent semi-rural society parades, which, like each of its components, dies in a way that is as irremediable as it is ridiculous.
