"Arbolito and the Hoopoe" is a MUSICAL STORY created by Ajayu duo (Merindad de Valdivielso).

The narrator, the 'hoopoe', sings the story of 'Arbolito' in 20 songs, a story of personal fulfillment that vindicates the need to dedicate our time to our passions, to what we like, to what we are.

The music is inspired by E. Gordon's 'Theory of Musical Learning', with a high pedagogical content in which we expose the wide range of colors that music has (through maximum modal and rhythmic variability), exploring the emotions of the main character.

Arbolito travels the world and his songs reflect this, with folklore from all over the globe (an Egyptian malfuf, an Argentine chacarera, a Peruvian landó, an African polyrhythm, a Colombian cumbia, a classical counterpoint, etc.)

This project represents a commitment by two new inhabitants of the rural area of Burgos to create an artistic and life project that allows them to live in the village, an ideal place to compose, create and carry out their work.

Genre: Music. Style: Contemporary-Ethnic. Duration: 60 min.

Show included in the programming of the Network of Theatres of Castilla y León.
