From December 1, 2024 to January 10, 2025 , Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you can visit the temporary exhibition " Images of the transition: 1977 to 1986 " at the Provincial Historical Archive of Segovia .

Last year, the Provincial Historical Archive of Segovia received a donation from Julio Feo (Valencia 1936) of 88 photographs illustrating the years (1974-1987) in which the donor was an active member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, and during the first five years of Felipe Gonzalez 's mandate (1982-1987) he was Secretary General of the Presidency of the Government.

From a very young age, thanks to an early excursion to the Guadarrama Mountain Range with his class at the French Lyceum where he was in his first year of high school, he fell in love with our province of Segovia.

Many years later, in 1968, he found refuge in La Mata del Fraile, among the ruins of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa Maria de la Sierra, near Collado Hermoso and then owned by Marichu de la Mora.

He lived in Madrid from the age of four and studied at the French Lyceum and Political Science at the University of Madrid. In 1960 he obtained a scholarship to go to Stanford University in California. He stayed there for three years and obtained a Master's degree in International Relations and Political Science and began a doctorate, which he abandoned in order to move to New York in 1964 and work in Political Sociology with Professor Juan Linz at Columbia University, where he also participated in a research project, directed by two eminent psychologists, which tried to determine problems of anomie in retirees.

In 1967 he returned to Madrid and began a professional career in the world of marketing, market research, advertising and communication.

During his university years in Madrid he was a member of the University Socialist Association, an anti-Franco student group.

In 1974, after the Suresnes Congress, he joined the PSOE. In 1977 he was appointed coordinator of Felipe Gonzalez's electoral campaign, a role he continued in the campaigns of 1979, 1982 and 1986.

Following the socialist victory in 1982, Felipe Gonzalez appointed him Secretary General of the Presidency of the Government, a position he held for five years and from which he resigned in 1987, returning to his job in the private sector.

In 1996, when he turned 60, he bought a farm called Pinos Altos in the pine forests of Muñopedro. There he enjoyed the tranquillity of Segovia with professional getaways to Madrid.

Since 2002 he has lived permanently among the pines, taking advantage of his retirement to write.

In 2018 he moved to the capital of Segovia where he has resided ever since.
