THE FROZEN WOMAN
The proposal combines theatre and dance. Annie Ernaux is one of the most important voices in contemporary French literature, Nobel Prize winner 2022. Her work, intimate, profound, critical and with a great autobiographical charge, is the reflection of an era. 'La femme helado' is one of her great books, and a good starting point to delve into her work.
THE COLD WOMAN is a project that raises awareness about typical behaviors and roles in contemporary society, examines the complexities of FEMALE IDENTITY, and addresses the battle between being a woman and being a mother in modern society.
The recent Nobel Prize winner in Literature writes The Frozen Woman as a first-person account. It is a powerful story about the challenges faced by generations of women, offering readers a powerful and visceral portrait of an entire generation, as a way of identifying with all women who have been trapped in their role as caregivers.
Her story is universal for all generations of women: it is our story. Learning to live as society wants, but at what price? The concept of memory and its relationship to the past is a constant theme in OUR work. Memory is an important element not only because it shapes our lives, but also because it allows us to look critically at the world we live in.
The protagonist of La mujer fría is a 30-year-old teacher with a comfortable life. But she soon sees her dreams vanish as she tries to combine her career with her "obligations" as a wife and mother.
This is a life journey that begins in her childhood, goes through a youth marked by her aspiration to be a cultured, free and independent woman, and ends in her maturity, becoming the wife of an executive and the mother of two children.
Genre: Theatre. Style: Dramatic. Duration: 70 min.
