"Educating is giving possibilities" by Ángel Hidalgo

This book is a didactic and educational guide for parents, grandparents, teachers and all people interested in improving education, giving them the opportunity to think and choose what children they want to leave in this world and what kind of world they want to leave for their children.
Based on research, science and experience, the aim is to teach our children to do "what is necessary when it is necessary" and to give them life skills: to be autonomous, responsible, to know how to wait, to tolerate frustration and self-control, to know how to ask questions and think critically, to develop good emotional bonds, to involve them in problems and in the construction of solutions, to integrate the digital world into personal and family life, to internalise values by being brave, empathetic, respectful, supportive, confident, happy children and capable of achieving their goals with effort.

Ángel Hidalgo was born in a small town in Zamora called Vecilla de la Polvorosa. He began his studies in Psychology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca between 1974 and 1979. His specialty is educational and clinical psychology. He began his professional career in the Bierzo region (Ponferrada, Leon) working in the educational sector as an advisor in the Department of Education and has also worked as a therapist. He is currently retired and remains active in the educational sector.
He is passionate about education and teamwork based on good relationships, helping parents, grandparents and teachers to focus their attention and energy on what children need and what adults need to change.
He has participated in several projects in cooperation with parents, students, teachers and other professionals, and has given training courses at Teachers' Centres and conferences for parents, as well as being the author of articles on "Understanding and educational response to ADHD". Co-author of educational reinforcement books such as "No hay problema". He regularly collaborates with the media, spreading the idea that another type of education is possible and necessary in this 21st century.
