Poetic-musical show with songs and poems taken from various books by Agustín García Calvo, set to music in flamenco style by the singer Carmen Esteban with the collaboration of Sergio Portales on guitar. For this occasion, previously unpublished musical adaptations will be presented.
Carmen Esteban began singing in Madrid at Manuela's Flamenco Week with Perico del Lunar. Agustín García Calvo introduced her at the Círculo de Bellas Artes. Together with Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio, Amancio Prada and García Calvo himself, she sang in different places in Madrid. She was the first singer in Rafael Aguilar's dance company, performing, among other places, at the Teatro Albéniz or the Centro Cultural de la Villa. She has been accompanied on the guitar by different masters: Curro de Jerez, José de Ketama, Montoyita...…
Sergio Portales , a graduate in Musicology and Philosophy, is a versatile guitarist versed in different styles, but with a special dedication to flamenco. He has performed in various places in Spain, such as in Madrid, at the Juan March Foundation, as well as in numerous countries (Portugal, the Netherlands, Chile). He has accompanied Niño de Elche and many others and provided music for the documentary about Menéndez Pidal for the Imprescindibles series on RTVE. He is currently working on musical projects of different styles: El Portal de Carmen, La Milker Band, La Flamenquería or Huckleberry.
