Valladolid Museum. The painting represents the Nativity or Birth of the Child Jesus, which is narrated in the Gospels of Saint Luke and Saint Matthew. Surrounding the Child are the Virgin Mary, a pair of angels, Saint Joseph and the midwife Zelomi, all of them in an attitude of reverence and veneration. In the background, the ox and the mule appear, on a stone wall. This panel, of unknown origin and author, has characteristics that allow it to be attributed to the 15th century, most likely to the second half of this century, with a clear continuity of the Gothic style and a strong influence of Flemish art.

The guided tour of the piece of the month will be on Friday, December 13 at 12:00. Free admission. No reservation required.
