The Avila Public Library will be the setting for the performance of the play 'Profundo gozo' which, through the company Elfo Teatro, will immerse the spectator in the poetry of Saint John of the Cross.

Saint John of the Cross is a mystery, one of the most profoundly beautiful mysteries we have in Spanish literature. His poetry, regardless of whether one is a believer or not or of what confession, provokes a reversal, a flight, an overflow of the logos and the entrails, a kind of elevation of the spirit. It is an invocation to the sacred through love and creation, which is why we felt so close to his work and understood that we could try to bring it to the stage.
