Directed by John Ford in 1962

Ransom Stoddard (James Stewart), an elderly senator in the United States Congress, explains to a reporter why he has traveled with his wife (Vera Miles) to attend the funeral of his old friend Tom Doniphon (John Wayne). The story begins many years earlier, when Ransom was a young lawyer from the East riding a stagecoach to Shinbone, a small Western town, to practice law and enforce the law. Shortly before arriving, he was robbed and brutally beaten by Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin), a feared gunman.

According to critics, it is "one of the best westerns that cinema has ever produced. A splendid cast and wonderful direction for a classic. Unrepeatable and essential."

This screening is part of the 2025 "Cinema to Remember" cycle.

Free admission until capacity is reached (56 seats).
