SOUND PUNCHES: New ways of tuning thought. (How to make a podcast about philosophy and literature)
Paula Ducay and Inés García, directors of the podcast Punzadas Sonoras , will go through some ideas about the intersection between sound, thought and culture. They will focus on thinking about how new ways of communicating philosophy, literature and art can make their way through audio. How can we distance philosophy from the world of ideas and bring it closer to reality? Can the audio format accompany us in our reflection? Why have podcasts become the great literary prescribers?
Paula Ducay is a writer and co-founder of the cultural project Punzadas. In February 2024 she published La ternura, her first novel. She collaborates with media such as Cadena SER, El Cultural, Carne Cruda and elDiario.es. She has a degree in Philosophy and a Master's in Editing from the UAM.

MIREN IZA (TULSA): Singing something like poetry
When in October 2024 the Ministry of Culture awarded Tulsa the National Prize for Current Music for her album Amadora (2023) and its stage adaptation, the jury argued it with the following text: "For an outstanding album with lyrics of deep lyrical depth and a poetic sensibility built from local customs to vindicate and give voice to the least represented women in society." Not in vain, and as is well known, the word "lyrical", mentioned here, in ancient Athens referred to poetry that was sung accompanied by a lyre. Miren Iza (Tulsa) will not bring a lyre, but a guitar with which she will perform some of her songs while telling us about her processes for composing lyrics and melodies.
Tulsa is Miren Iza (Donosti, 1979), winner of the National Prize for Contemporary Music in 2024. A Basque composer and singer, in 2007 she was nominated for a Latin Grammy for best new artist; this year she is presenting the first of seven albums she will release under the stage name Tulsa, Sólo me has rozado .
In 2010, her second album, Espera la pálida (Subterfuge), was released, in which she continued the American folk rock spirit of her music and with which she went on an extensive tour for two years, travelling throughout Spain, as well as playing in Argentina and New York. It was precisely to this last city that the artist moved to live in 2011. She went on a tour of the United States that took her to venues in Washington DC, Atlanta, New Orleans and Nashville Austin (SXSW), among other cities.
In 2015 he released his album La calma chicha (Gran Derby Records), produced by Carasueño and Charlie Bautista, which marked a turning point in his career by introducing synthesizers. In 2017 he recorded and released Centauros (Intromúsica Records); and in 2021 he released Ese Éxtasis , considered the best national album by the specialized magazine Muzikalia .
She has also collaborated in film and theatre. In 2016 she recorded the soundtrack for Jonás Trueba's film Los exiliados románticos , which was released under the same name. In the field of performing arts, she has worked with María Velasco - National Prize for Dramatic Literature in 2024 - on the stage adaptation of her latest album to date, Amadora, an album she is releasing under her own label, Matxitxako, and which was considered one of the best of the year by media such as Muzikalia and Jenesaispop .
