Literary meeting. Tribute to the poet Margarita Ferreras on her 125th birthday.
  • February 27th, 7:00 p.m.
  • Auditorium of the Public Library of Zamora
  • Free admission until full capacity

This literary event is a tribute to the poet Margarita Ferreras (Alcañices, 1900 - Palencia, 1964), a writer from the Generation of '27 in the context of the Silver Age, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of her birth.

Many of the female writers of this generation remain hidden in the literary transmission of the first half of the 20th century. Silence came, like a burden, after the Civil War and the Dictatorship. Also, the path of exile.

This tribute, on the 125th anniversary of her birth, is intended to be an act of poetic justice, a cry for freedom that other personalities and artists claim in her name. It is the time for cultural restitution. Our goal: to rescue her from a place where, until now, she has been forgotten.

María Jesús Fuentes (Málaga-Ceuta) has a degree in Hispanic Philology. She teaches at the "Siete Colinas" in Ceuta. She has walked many roads without being able to turn back. Thus, between dreams, travels and readings, she has published essays, stories, novels, poetry, prologues, articles and collaborations in anthologies, where she shares pages with the most well-known and recognized voices of contemporary poetry.
In October 2024, she was appointed Academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Fine Arts and Fine Arts of Córdoba.

Her poems also appear in collective publications: "Palabras como velas encendidas", Amnesty International; "Encuentros y palabras", Asociación Pentadrama; "Una ruta literaria por Zamora" (Editorial Semuret, 2014); and in the magazine Álora.

Yolanda Fidalgo (Zamora) studied Tourism Business at the University of Salamanca. In addition to writing, she is the founder of her own bookbinding workshop in Madrid and Tierra Dulce, an organic chocolate company.
She has always had an inclination towards books and began writing poetry until she ventured into narrative. To date, she has published the novels "Más allá de los volcanes", "Las hogueras del cielo" and "La música del mal", all of them from Roca Editorial (Barcelona). At the moment, she is correcting and rewriting the fourth, which we hope will appear soon.
