Week of commemoration and proclamation of the Jota as intangible heritage of humanity .

Educational display of musical instruments around the musical genre of the jota.
Lecture by Pablo Zamarrón Yuste in which we will discuss musical instruments that have come down to us through tradition: description, materials, sound principle, environment and circumstances of their use.
The situation in which they are found will be analyzed, whether their use has disappeared or on the contrary survives, in what conditions, or if their use is in good health. Traditional rhythms and melodies will be shown, focusing on the jota or fandango. The instruments that can be played will be played and some attendees will be asked to participate with rhythmic accompaniments.
Pablo Zamarrón Yuste: from Arroyo de Cuéllar , Segovia, is a traditional musician, folklorist and musicologist. He belongs to and has been a member of various traditional and early popular music groups, with which he has recorded his work in various recordings. He carries out tasks of disseminating music, instruments, musical iconography, and traditions, both with the music and entertainment groups to which he belongs, and in talks, conferences, courses, workshops, educational exhibitions, etc., as well as collaborating in the maintenance of culture as a traditional musician. He has published a book on Musical Iconography in the Cathedral of Segovia .
He is a full member and current director of the Royal Academy of History and Art of San Quirce in Segovia.
