A series of undisciplined workshops to shake up the library. The library can be more than just a storehouse of neatly arranged books resting quietly.
Interacciones is an initiative of the Casa de las Conchas Public Library that aims to reinforce the concept of a library as an open, culturally vibrant community, capable of gathering the concerns that surround it. Within the program of activities we propose workshops, actions and conversations that try to foster links and complicity between users who often share the library space without ever meeting each other. We like to imagine everything that can happen in a library, we like to think of reading as an act that is never innocent or passive, which is perhaps, of all those we carry out on a daily basis, one of the most creative exercises. Reading always involves exchange, translation of some languages into others, spatiotemporal displacements; in short, it is an activity that demands a deep commitment.
What's the weirdest thing you've ever done in a library?

Elena P. Cuesta + Angel Lemus
Have you ever experienced a popular festival in a library? In this first Interacciones activity we will shake up the library more than ever with a night full of music, traditional games and surprises. The evening begins with a performance by Lemus and his video clip Los ojos de mi charra , followed by a series of classic dynamics such as hopscotch, petanque, sack races... There will be prizes for the most skilled and a final raffle. In addition, attendees will be able to access a special library archive, full of books that you may never have noticed. An experience to share, play and celebrate culture in community!

Mariano Peyrou
What happens when meaning opens up, when precision and imprecision coexist, when the prosaic breaks in? How do irony, thematic weakness, repetitions, images or symbols participate in the construction of meaning? Mariano Peyrou invites us to enjoy the tension of exploring a strange territory, to surrender to the fascination that this strangeness generates and to find a space from which to read, look and think differently.
Seminar, 12:00 h.
