Valladolid Museum. In February, the museum highlights as its piece of the month a panel depicting the Annunciation or Angelic Salutation, collected in the Gospel of Saint Luke. In the painting, the Virgin is reading on a prie-dieu, when she is surprised by the angel Saint Gabriel, who tells her that the Holy Spirit, represented in the form of a dove, would come upon her and give birth to the son of God. The author of this panel is the Master of Osma, a painter active between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century, who worked in the provinces of Burgos, Valladolid and Soria (specifically in Burgo de Osma), from which it takes its name. He must also have been an outstanding miniaturist who made the illuminations of the songbooks of the Monastery of Espeja (Soria).

The guided tour of the piece of the month will be on Friday, February 7 at 12:00. Free admission. No reservation required.
