It is housed in a former eating house, founded in 1890 and which was used by the horsemen that carried the mail from one post house to another. Local materials such as wrought stone, granite, wood and slate have been used in the construction of this Posada, which conserves the traditional architectural features that are characteristic of this area.

Visitors to the Posada Real La Yénsula may also acquire local produce such as habones ’ giant broad beans -, Fuentesaúco chick peas and Zamora chorizo sausage. It organise a number of activities completely free of charge, such as canoeing, wild mushroom routes, hiking, guided walking tours to discover the local flora, environmental workshops and the Quixote Route.
