Living Cathedrals
There is a different way to get to know the province of Salamanca by chasing the shadow of a series of cataloged trees. Protected by their special characteristics of longevity, some exceeding 500 years of life, by their size that can reach 30 meters in height or by their uniqueness, they are authentic living natural jewels worthy of admiration.
The Tormes Foundation has designed two routes. Sendas del Tormes formed by the ash tree of San Pedro del Valle, the Fundación Tormes de Almenara arboretum, the poplar of Ribera de Juzbado, the elm of Arroyo de la Villaselva in the Florida town of Liébana, the redwoods of the Hacienda Zorita in Valverdón , the moral trees of Torresmenudas and San Pelayo de Guareña and the cork oaks of Santiz, Zamayón and Valdelosa.
