This natural path, also known as GR-14, crosses the region of Castile and León, and after starting in the Urbión mountain range in Soria, it ends in the Vega Terrón pier in Salamanca.
The final 10 stages, of the 42 that make up the route, take place in Salamanca lands, introducing us to its rich historical and cultural heritage, discovering the most representative architecture and ethnography and making known the customs, festivals and traditions of the place. From the Zamora town of Fermoselle you can visit the Salamanca towns of Trabanca, Villarino de los Aires, Pereña de la Ribera, Masueco, Aldeadávila de la Ribera, Mieza, Vilvestre, Saucelle, Hinojosa de Duero, La Fregeneda and Vega Terrón.
The Duero and its tributaries Tormes and Huebra fit together, giving rise to a network of formidable canyons: they are Las Arribes of Salamanca.
Striking waterfalls, such as the Pozo de los Humos or the Cachón de Camaces, dot Mediterranean landscapes; A preserved flora and fauna have contributed to the declaration of the territory as a natural park.
The Senda del Duero constitutes a magnificent opportunity to look out at viewpoints and peaks, among vineyards and olive groves, and in the process contemplate impressive dams, which contain the Duero: the Almendra dam, with more than 2,600 hm3 of capacity and which holds the record for height, with 200 meters to the top of the dam; and that of Aldeadávila de la Ribera, which has been used as a film setting.
