Millions of years ago, at a point in the subsoil of the Tiétar Valley, water began to leak, something natural and apparently simple that over time and in the silence of the depths gave rise to a fascinating spectacle. Today, fifty meters deep and along a kilometer of galleries, the Cuevas del Águila are a jewel of the geological heritage of the province, a treasure that further enriches the many values that the Tiétar valley has, found by chance in 1963. After intense and respectful conditioning, the cavities were opened in which columns, stalactites, gours and other formations recreate a beautiful underground world.
