It starts in the Neila mountain range in Burgos and ends in Granja de Torrehermosa in the countryside south of the province of Badajoz.

It crosses the Duero River through the city of Aranda de Duero (Burgos) and enters the province of Segovia.

The Central System crosses it through the Somosierra pass. From Madrid it heads towards Zújar, Badajoz, where the route ends.
