On this occasion, he will delve into the work Pines of Rome.
Pines of Rome, or in Italian Pini di Roma, P 141, is a symphonic poem for orchestra composed by Ottorino Respighi in 1924. The program piece musically portrays various places in Rome with pine trees, specifically those in the gardens of Villa Borghese, near a catacomb, on the Janiculum Hill and along the Appian Way. It is part of the Roman Trilogy, being the second of his three symphonic poems about the Eternal City, following Fontane di Roma (1916) and preceding Feste romane (1928).
A musical story through the corners of Rome! Don't miss it.
