Montserrat Villar González (Cortegada de Baños, 1969) is a Spanish poet, philologist and translator, specialized in poetry in the Portuguese language, mainly in that of the poet Álvaro Alves de Faria, whom she has translated. Also noteworthy are his bilingual collections of poems in Spanish and Galician.
She holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Salamanca and later in Portuguese Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Professionally, she works in the field of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teacher, teaching courses and giving lectures for teacher training. She specializes in Brazilian poetry and has translated poetry by Álvaro Alves de Faria, Marco Lucchesi, and other Portuguese authors into Spanish. As a poet, she regularly contributes to literary blogs, discussion groups, and other events as president of the PentaDrama Cultural Association.
