Zamora Museum. Paintings, drawings and sculptures make up the exhibition by Julián Valle (Aranda de Duero, 1963) which, under the title "The fabric of the world", can be visited at the Zamora Museum from November 21. Diverse disciplines and approaches that delve into one of the constants in the work of the Burgos author, the landscape, and along with it other associated concepts such as the territory, its cultural transformation by the human communities that inhabit it, vernacular architecture and other aspects related to its history. On this occasion, the interest is focused on a specific historical landscape, the early medieval rock sanctuaries and hermitages, religious spaces with which the artist feels spiritually connected and with which he establishes an intimate bond. Julián Valle's cultural landscapes are transformed into vital landscapes and are an expression of the communion between author and nature, "between the path of art and that of life", in his own words.
The Museum of Zamora now houses the result of this suggestive artistic reflection and offers an encounter with some pictorial works from its historical collection that feature anchorites, hermits and ascetics. Coming from the religious communities that were suppressed by the disentailment processes of the 19th century and the origin of the provincial museums, they offer another reading of the spiritual and privileged connection of the human being through a landscape of material renunciation and the stripping away of everything that is superfluous. The cultural and chronological difference of both proposals, one current and the other baroque, nevertheless raises a surprising conceptual affinity that relates history, nature and the interior portrait.
