On Thursday, November 28 , at 7:00 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library , the concert 13 sonnets and a siren by Daniel Pérez will be held.

13 Sonnets and a Siren is a concert for voice and guitar with music and lyrics by Daniel Pérez, whose originality lies in the stanza used in the songs, since the sonnet is not common in musical compositions and it is also not common for the same author to have written the music and the lyrics.

The sonnet has a long tradition in Spanish literature, from Garcilaso, Quevedo, Lope de Vega, among our classics, to Lorca and Miguel Hernández, to name a few. This recital seeks to be inspired by that poetic tradition, and by the conviction that it is necessary to defend Spanish as a language of culture.

The 13 sonnets speak of the feeling of love from different perspectives, although as with art in general, they go beyond the purely emotional.
