The Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language is organizing the poetry recital 13 sonnets and a siren at the public library of Palencia on Thursday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m., a concert for voice and guitar with music and lyrics by the composer and playwright from Zamora, Daniel Pérez. This recital presents the originality of using the formula of using the sonnet in the stanzas, a poetic composition that is not very common in the lyrics of songs, but has a long tradition in Spanish-language literature, where it has been frequently used by classic authors such as Garcilaso de la Vega, Quevedo, Lope de Vega, Federico García Lorca and Miguel Hernández, among others.

The 13 sonnets speak of the feeling of love from different perspectives, although as with art in general, they go beyond the purely emotional aspect. This recital seeks to be inspired by this poetic tradition and by the conviction that it is necessary to defend Spanish as a language for transmitting culture. This proposal has found the support of specialized critics, who have highlighted how the meticulous and careful versions presented by the author from Zamora allow the messages to be received directly and without losing their beauty and mystery. It gives off something fascinating and charming spectacle, a feast for the visual and auditory senses with that strong presence of music, songs and dance are some of the praises that 1 3 sonnets and a siren has received from critics.
