Moral de la Reina is proud of its regal surname, which refers to the former Royal Fortress that once stood here. The two small bridges crossing the Madre Stream at the entrance to the town probably date back to the days of the Romans. Today agriculture and livestock breeding are the principal sources of income for this town.

The town is also the site of the Church of Santa María and the ruins of the Church of San Juan.
