As the first part of its name indicates, this town, situated in region of La Armuña, shares close ties with the Silver Route. Its economy is based on farming with a large number of small food and agriculture businesses and it is particularly renowned for its pulses.

The appearance of this country town has changed in recent years following the construction of modern buildings that rub shoulders with the more traditional elements, such as the milestones and pontoons. You can also enjoy the Roman fountain ‘La Buena Fuente’ as well as some milestones. Particularly worthy of mention due to its associations with the Pilgrims’ Road to Santiago is the coat-of-arms featuring a milestone and a scallop shell - the pilgrims’ symbol.
