This small town stands on a hill overlooking the vast fertile meadowlands bathed by the rivers Órbigo and Esla. This is the ancient Astura that would lend its name to one of the most important nations of Pre-Roman Hispania. The irrigated lands make this a small yet lush oasis situated just outside Benavente.

Reminiscent of a ship’s keel, from here visitors can admire the rich lands, twisting rivers, woods and ever-shifting horizons.

This town is also the site of the Church of Santa Marina.
