It is placed on a granite promontory; it was a very important stronghold for the Vettones during the Roman conquest.

Of irregular floor, it had a powerful defensive system formed by a wall of almost three kilometres made of granite blocks. There were until four hundred houses and, near them, there were natural sources that supplied water.

One of the most important testimonies of this site are the zoomorphic figures, called verracos, which were found in the vicinity that nowadays are one opposite to the church of Solosancho and the other in front of the Villaviciosa Castle.
