The medieval past is still alive in the streets of the historic center as well as in its wall, its castle and beautiful Romanesque temples such as the church of Santo Domingo, San Juan de Rabaneda, the arches of San Juan de Duero or the co-cathedral of San Pedro. The Renaissance palaces are other of the city's great treasures. On one of the slopes of the Duero is the hermitage of San Saturio, patron saint of the city. Tradition has it that after the death of his parents, the Sorian nobleman Saturio distributed his wealth among the poor and went to live in some caves, located in the same place where the temple stands, where he lived for 30 years as a hermit.
