In the bucolic setting of the Montes de Valsaín, Felipe V decided to build one of the most spectacular palaces and provide it with the most impressive baroque gardens on the continent.

San Ildefonso, or La Granja, is a fascinating delight for art lovers, not only for its Versailles atmosphere, but also for the heritage and historical complex that stands next to its streets. Next to the Royal Palace you can see other interesting buildings such as the Corps Guard Barracks, the Royal Collegiate Church of the Santísima Trinidad, the Casa de los Infantes, the Casa Baüer and the Gates of Segovia. Equally important is the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja, which currently houses the Glass Technology Museum.

The abundant pine forests that form the Monte de Valsaín, located in the Siera de Guadarrama National Park, are an example of management and sustainability and the ideal place to get away and enjoy nature.
