Following the course of the river Jalón, tourists comes across the town of Santa María de Huerta, where the Celtic-Iberian, Roman and Arabic remains show the town's origins.
The town is built around the Monastery of the Cister order, the Monasterio de Santa María de Huerta of Plateresque Roman-gothic style. There is also a former palace in Santa María de Huerta, that of the Marqueses de Villa-Huerta, which is today a school, the Colegio del Sagrado Corazón.
