It was built at the end of the last century on a vaulted gallery from the Roman period - La Ergástula - that would form part of a portico that constitutes the support of an altar located in the center of the Astúrica forum. The permanent exhibition shows a series of objects recovered from the multiple archaeological excavations carried out in Astorga. The archaeological itinerary called the Roman Route starts from the museum.
