The Robles de Laciana Geological Classroom is an initiative that emerged from a group of Geology fans, all of them members of the Friends of Sierra Pambley Cultural Association (Villablino, León). From its origins, the objective of this project has been the creation of a space destined to promote the geological resources of Laciana, complementing them with the wide patrimonial offer of this region and other neighboring ones. It is established in the Escuelas de Robles de Laciana building and consists of several rooms: Mineral room: it permanently exhibits a wide collection of minerals from all corners of the planet, as well as a collection of rocks of great didactic value. Fossil room: contains a spectacular display of fossils from León and other Spanish provinces. The plant fossils from the Upper Carboniferous of the Villablino coal basin stand out. "Rafael Roy" temporary exhibition hall: this unit hosts temporary exhibitions on various themes. The facilities also include an audiovisual media room and a large garden area, all of them with accesses adapted for people with reduced mobility. The Robles de Laciana Geological Classroom also seeks to promote the active and didactic use of the natural resources of the Lacian territory, and for this, informative activities are offered for all audiences, such as multi-thematic field trips that are part of "Classroom in ruta» or GeoLaciana, the Geology Days that every July make rocks the indisputable protagonists.
